Antonius von Schönberg , contemporary also Anthonius von Schönberg , also modernized Anton von Schönberg , (born February 10, 1588 in Mittelfrohna , † July 19, 1638 in Altenburg ) was a Saxon-Altenburg Chamber and Hofrat as well as a manor owner .

Life

He came from the Saxon noble family von Schönberg and was the son of Georg d. J. von Schönberg auf Sachsenburg and his wife Lucretia von Schönberg. The electoral Saxon mountain governor Georg Friedrich von Schönberg (born November 27, 1586 in Mittelfrohna; † October 23, 1650 in Freiberg ) was his brother two years older.

Like many of his family members, he embarked on an administrative career in the service of the Wettins . However, he did not go to the court in Dresden , but to the royal seat of Altenburg , where he was chamber councilor and councilor of the ruling dukes of Saxony-Altenburg.

As a manor owner, he was heir, feudal lord and court lord on Mittelfrohna and Wolperndorf, which he temporarily owned together with his older brother.

The funeral sermons given by the Altenburg archdeacon Jacob Freiesleben and the pastor Nicolaus Neunobelius on the occasion of his funeral were published by Otto Michael in Altenburg in 1638.
