Anubis Gate is a Danish progressive and power metal band from Aalborg , which was founded in 2001.
history
The band was founded in 2001 by Jesper M. Jensen, who played bass, electric guitar and keyboard, and drummer Morten Sørensen. A short time later, singer Torben Askholm joined the band. Together they recorded their debut album called Purification , with bassist Henrik Fevre and guitarist and keyboardist Kim Olesen joining the band. The album was produced by Jacob Hansen and caught the attention of Locomotive Records , with whom the band reached a contract.
The second album A Perfect Forever was released in September 2005. The album was again produced by Jacob Hansen. In autumn, singer Askholm had to struggle with vocal problems, so bassist Fevre also took over the vocal part. In 2006 Jacob Hansen joined the band as a new singer. She then began work on the next album called Andromeda Unchained , which was released in 2007. The album was again produced by Jacob Hansen and Kim Olesen. The year 2008 the band spent writing new material. The album The Detached was released on March 30, 2009 via Locomotive Records. The sound carrier was produced by Jacob Hansen and Kim Olesen. In 2010, the band split from Locomotive Records. The rest of the year the band spent writing new tracks. When almost all the songs for a new album were finished, singer and producer Jacob Hansen left the band. He was replaced by bassist Henrik Fevre. Demos were sent to various labels, whereby the band reached a contract with Nightmare Records in March 2011.
The album Anubis Gate was produced by Kim Olesen and Jacob Hansen and released in 2011 through Nightmare Records.
