Ao Tanaka ( Japanese 田中 碧 , Tanaka Ao ; born September 10, 1998 in Kawasaki , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Ao Tanaka learned to play football in the youth teams of Saginuma SC and Kawasaki Frontale . He signed his first contract in 2017 with his youth club Kawasaki Frontale. The club from Kawasaki , a city on the Japanese main island of Honshu in the northeast of Kanagawa Prefecture , played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2017 and 2018 he celebrated the Japanese football championship with Frontale. He won the J. League Cup and the Japanese Supercup in 2019

National team

Ao Tanaka played five times for the Japanese U23 national team . He has been playing for the Japanese national soccer team since 2019 . He made his debut for the national team on December 14, 2019 in a game of the East Asian Cup 2019 against Hong Kong .
