The Apphagau (also Appa , Apsagau , Affa , Affagau , Eriggeuue or Huntare ) was a medieval Swabian district in what is now Baden-Württemberg . The Apphagau extended on the Swabian Alb and its southern slope, southwest of the Lauter to the Danube , today in the southern district of Reutlingen and in the northern district of Biberach . It also appears as a cent (subdivision), probably the Albuinsbaar.

This Gau appears only in a few documents from the 9th to 11th centuries with the following exhibition locations: 4 × Reichenau, 1 × St. Gallen and 1 × Chur.

The following places in Apphagaus are mentioned in documents: Altheim (mentioned in 843), Riedlingen (Hruotinga, Rüedlingen, Rodelingen) (mentioned in 843), Waldhausen (Waldhusir) (mentioned in 835), Ostheim (mentioned in 835 ), Andelfingen (Antolvinga) (mentioned in 854), Mörsingen (Merigisinga) (mentioned in 904), Friedingen (Fridingon) bei Riedlingen (mentioned in 904), Zwiefalten (Zuivaltun) (mentioned in 904), Gauingen ( Goouuigon) (mentioned in 904), Hayingen (Heingon), Altzheim (Alzheim) (mentioned in 961), Bechingen (Pachinchova) (mentioned in 758).
