Waldhausen is a district of the Altheim community in the Biberach district in Baden-Württemberg . The village is about one and a half kilometers south of Altheim on county road 7553.

history

The place was first mentioned in 835. In the 13th century the local rule was presumably with the Lords of Justingen . In 1294 the property in Waldhausen was sold to the Heiligkreuztal monastery . In 1300 the monastery acquired another estate from the Counts of Grüningen-Landau and later held the manorial rule . In the 16th century at the latest, the high jurisdiction lay with the county of Sigmaringen as the owner of the monastery vogtei .

With the monastery, as a result of the secularization, the place came to Württemberg in 1803 , where it was initially subordinated to the Oberamt Heiligkreuztal and in 1807 to the Oberamt Riedlingen .

During the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the formerly independent municipality of Waldhausen was incorporated into the municipality of Altheim on July 1, 1974.
