Location and characteristics
The Aq Tash is located in India near the disputed border with Pakistan . A mountain ridge leads from Aq Tash to the northwest to Mamostong Kangri, 8.97 km away .
Ascent history
The Aq Tash was first climbed on August 6, 1993 by Nobuo Yamamoto and Yasufumi Mizote, members of a Japanese expedition.
Two days later, Prem Singh, PT Sherpa, Mohan Singh, Khem Raj, Sange Sherpa, Wangchuk Sherpa and Hira Ram, members of an Indian expedition, followed them to the summit.
