The Aravena Rock (English; Spanish Islote Aravena ) is a cliff rock in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the southeast of Discovery Bay on Greenwich Island , it is south of Canales Island and east of Ferrer Point .
Scientists of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) named him after a member of the team that was involved in the surveying of Discovery Bay between January and February 1947. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2005.
