Working group of the water management associations in North Rhine-Westphalia
The Working Group of Water Associations in North Rhine-Westphalia (AGW), based in Bergheim , is a working group of several water associations in North Rhine-Westphalia founded on January 25, 2006 .
The amalgamation of the eleven associations, which cover around two thirds of the country's area, is intended to communicate water policy issues in a citizen-oriented manner. The members operate 323 sewage treatment plants , 29 dams and are responsible for the care of around 17,500 kilometers of flowing water .
