The Archamiini are a tribe of cardinalfish (Apogonidae) introduced in 2014 , which occurs close to the coast in the Red Sea and in the tropical Indo-Pacific from the coast of East Africa to Japan in the north and east to Samoa .
features
Archamiini species are 4 ( Taeniamia bilineata ) to 11 cm ( Taeniamia biguttata ) long. The body of the fish is reddish or translucent and sometimes patterned with dark, yellowish, or reddish bands. The head is often greenish-yellow and patterned with two more or less clearly visible narrow, yellow or dark stripes. There is a small or large dark spot on the tail stalk. The body and head are covered with comb scales. The scaling is also found on the cheeks, on the gill cover, on the chest, in front of the first dorsal fin and on the base of the caudal fin. There are two scales at the base of the pelvic fins. The bone ridge on the preoperculum is smooth, the edges of the preoperculum are sawn. A basic phenoid is present. There are brush-shaped teeth on the premaxillary, lower jaw and palate. Teeth can also be missing on the palatine . There are five free hypuralia in the caudal fin skeleton . The caudal fin is forked. The stomach and intestines are blackish, the peritoneum is silvery.
- Fin formula : dorsal 1 VI-VI, dorsal 2 I / 9; Anals II / 12-19, pectorals 11-16
- Scale formula : SL 24-25
- Gill rake : 15–23
- Vertebrae 10 + 14
The first segmented fin ray of the dorsal and anal fin is unbranched. The fifteen central rays of the caudal fin are segmented and branched, the upper and lower are unbranched. Each lateral line scale has one pore above the midline and one below. The stomach, intestines and peritoneum are light.
