The Noah's Ark Zoo Braunschweig is a zoo in Braunschweig .
In the complex, which is rather smaller compared to other zoological gardens, around 300 animals from 50 species are kept in near-natural enclosures . The park is family-owned and has a sister zoo only 15 km away, the Essehof zoo in teaching .
The facility was opened in 1964. In 1995 the zoo was expanded. In 2001 a new entrance building was opened. There is also a gastronomic facility here. A new children's playground and a parking lot were also built.
The Association of Zoofreunde Braunschweig und Umgebung e. V. was dissolved in 2016.
Among other things, the black swan , great gray owl , Lisztaffe , common marmoset , green iguana , raccoon , cheetah , short-clawed otter , tiger , green-winged macaw , coati and trample are kept.
