Archibald Eser

Archibald Willibald Helmut Eser (born December 27, 1961 ) is a former German child actor . He was best known from the movie The World Is Alright At Seven .

life and career

Archibald Eser was born in 1961 to the screenwriter Willibald Eser and his wife Christine.

When the film director Kurt Hoffmann wanted to film the Eric Malpass novel The Morning at Seven Is The World Is Alright , he already had specific ideas about the actor who should take on the role of Gaylord : He should look just like the little boy who graced the cover of the German edition of the novel. This was designed by the book illustrator Eva Kausche-Kongsbak . Among the more than 3,000 applicants for the role, the decision was finally made for the then six-year-old Archibald Eser, who, however, in contrast to the boy on the book cover, had dark hair. The film proved to be so successful with over three million viewers that just a year later the sequel When sweetly the moonlight sleeps on the hills , also starring Eser, was released in cinemas. Since Eser had had a bad experience with his early film fame - he was teased by his classmates - he stopped accepting any further film offers. A comeback prematurely announced by the rainbow press in 1978 never materialized.

Archibald Eser now lives as a management consultant in Munich.
