Ariane Koizumi , also just Ariane , (* 1963 in Hanford , California ) is an American actress and model .

life and career

Ariane Koizumi was born in California in 1963 to a Japanese and a Dutch parent. She grew up in Riverdale , a borough in the northwest of the Bronx in New York City . In the 1980s, Ariane Koizumi was at the height of her career as an Asian model. She worked for the most renowned fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld , Yves Saint-Laurent , Giorgio Armani and Jean Paul Gaultier . She was featured in publications such as Vogue and Elle and on the catwalks of Paris, Rome, Milan, Tokyo and other fashion centers around the world . As an actress, Ariane Koizumi became internationally known through the female lead role of the journalist Tracy Tzu in the US thriller In the Year of the Dragon alongside Mickey Rourke from 1985. For her acting performance, she was nominated for the negative award Golden Raspberry (for worst actress and worst Newcomer ). She often only operates under her first name Ariane .
