action

Lisa Brenner, who had numerous admirers, fell from the 12th floor. First there is the question of murder or suicide, as there are a large amount of antidepressants in the victim's bathroom . However, there is no reference to the victim for the origin and prescription of these preparations. There are also traces of a second person, so the investigation continues.

With the support of the new assistant Kalli Hammermann, Batic and Leitmayr investigate and interrogate the men who had regular contact with Lisa. Here a wide range of different suspects emerge from classic husbands and family fathers on the side, the bank clerk Kevin Lischke, a bouncer with a criminal record, especially in the field of physical injuries, the former sports star Mike Hansen to the well-known brewery owner and Oktoberfest host Toni Feistl as a friend of special varieties. One of the suspects is pensioner Harry Riedeck, whose relationship with the victim is more of a supporter and provider than a customer.

Even in the initial phase of the investigation, it turns out that Leitmayr also had a relationship with the dead woman over a year ago. Since he had kept this from his colleagues and superiors, he was immediately withdrawn from the case and suspended. Nevertheless, he continues to investigate on his own, although he also has to deal with his disappointment in the previously unknown double life of his former girlfriend. At the end of the film, he also has to learn that Lisa was pregnant again by him and without letting him the child aborted has.

Two days later, Harry Riedeck is murdered in the basement of his house with forty blows of the hammer. Case analyst Christine Lerch tries to establish a connection between the two cases. At first, all traces run into emptiness. Leitmayr informs his colleague Batic about his unauthorized investigation, which nevertheless does not improve the relationship of trust between the two. The film takes a surprising turn in the final phase when the parallel investigations of both investigators lead to the inconspicuous neighbor and friend of the victim, Margot Höllerer, who is also a pharmacist by profession. She committed the murders of Lisa Brenner because of unrequited love and the uncomfortable confidante Harry Riedeck. In the final scene, she stabs Leitmayr with a knife. The film ends with an ambulance arriving while Batic provides first aid to the unconscious Leitmayr.

Aftermath

One day after the first broadcast, Bayerischer Rundfunk announced Leitmayr's “survival” in response to inquiries from many viewers, and a further ten days later a re-shot scene was published on the Internet two weeks later to resolve the situation. The injury is not mentioned in the following crime scene with the two commissioners.

Reviews

“A thriller that shows the investigators in an emotional state of emergency without using the usual arousal techniques. It's amazing how the old Munich boys can pull us out of the 'Tatort' routine into the unknown even after 25 years. "

“The choice of actors is also very loving: the two gray heads have a new wet research colleague, Kalli Hammermann, who looks remotely like Philipp Lahm at eight. The great Lisa Wagner is there as a case analyst, a raven plays a raven. "

“But the beginning is terrific, especially when you already know that Leitmayr knows the victim. Because then his somnambulistic mood at the scene of the crime becomes a theatrical cabinet piece. A big appearance by Udo Wachtveitl, worthy of an investigator who has grown dear to our hearts and now perhaps should be torn out. Because why do you need three new employees in Munich as long as there is the dynamic duo there? "

music

The play Love Letters was in the version of Ketty Lester used from the year 1962nd The song Dreaming My Dreams With You by country singer Waylon Jennings reached after the first television showing the German single charts. It became the singer's only chart hit posthumously in Germany.

Awards

Barbara de Koy was awarded the German Academy for Television in 2014 for her portrayal of the murdering pharmacist Margot Höllerer and the German Actor Award in 2015 - in both cases as best actress in a supporting role.
