Ketty Lester - Love Letters

Ketty Lester (* 16th August 1934 (according to other sources in 1938) in Hope , Arkansas as Revoyda Frierson ) is an American R & B - singer and actress .

Life

Ketty Lester studied music at San Francisco State College and joined the college choir. After graduating, she worked in a music club and was discovered by Cab Calloway . She went with him on a tour of South America and in 1961 got a record deal with Era Records . With her single Love Letters she was able to reach number 5 in the US charts in 1962. From 1968 Lester regularly played smaller and larger TV roles, e.g. B. in the TV series Lou Grant . Her biggest role was as Hester-Sue Terhune in Michael Landon's series Our Little Farm .
