Ariane Matiakh (* 1980 in France ) is a French conductor .

Life

The daughter of two opera singers grew up in a musical environment and learned to play the piano at an early age. She studied orchestral conducting in Vienna with Leopold Hager and completed master classes with Seiji Ozawa .

At first she worked as an assistant at the Opéra de Montpellier . This was followed by engagements at the Komische Oper Berlin , the Kungliga Operan in Stockholm and other venues in Amsterdam , Gothenburg , Graz , Nice and Strasbourg .

Matiakh has been a professor at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris since 2018 .

Since the beginning of the 2019/20 season, Ariane Matiakh has been General Music Director of the Opera and Staatskapelle Halle . At Matiakh's request, the current contract was terminated with effect from January 31, 2020. Reasons were not given in the press release.
