Arie van der Velden (born December 12, 1881 in Rotterdam , † December 6, 1967 there ) was a Dutch sailor .
successes
Arie van der Velden, who was also a seaman by profession, took part in the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris , where he competed in three competitions. In the joint race, he failed to cross the finish line, while in the boat class 3 to 10 tons he twice achieved the top four. As a crew member of the yacht Mascotte , he finished second behind Henri Gilardoni with the Fémur in the first race, and fourth in the second. In addition to van der Velden, Chris Hooijkaas was also part of the crew, while the Mascotte was skippered by Henri Smulders .
