Arkiv for / för nordisk filologi ('Archive for Nordic Philology') is a scientific journal that publishes texts and treatises on philological topics in several languages.

history

The magazine publishes philological and linguistic articles on older Nordic literature, Scandinavian studies or Nordic languages. It was founded in 1882 to publish the latest findings in linguistic research in the Nordic region. It is published once a year as a brochure at Lund University .

There were first considerations in 1881 at the second meeting of philologists. The first four editions (also referred to as series 1) of the Arkiv for nordisk filologi were initially published under the direction of Gustav Storm and printed by the publishing house JW Cappelen (1882–1888) in Christiania ( Oslo ). It was the first magazine devoted to the study of Nordic languages ​​and Nordic literary life. From 1889 the "ny följd" (new series) was published under the direction of Axel Kock at the "CWK Gleerups förlag" in Lund under the title Arkiv för nordisk filologi (from 1890 to 1944 also in Leipzig with Otto Harrassowitz). The journals contained four booklets each and cost 6 crowns .

The magazine has been supported by the "Axel Kocks fond för nordisk filologi" since 1966 and with the title addition Arkiv för nordisk filologi. ANF ​​/ utg.med understöd av Nordiska Publiceringsnämnden för Humanistiska och Samhällsvetenskapliga Tidskrifter Axel Kocks Fond för Nordisk Filologi published at the University of Lund.
