Life

Armin Dollinger, who has lived in Neuhausen since he was born , started boxing as a teenager. Later he worked as a doorman in not always youth-free establishments and ran the Hirschenwirt pub in Neuhausen for nine years before opening the bar “sports & more” in 2005 .

Professional career

Armin "Hirschenwirt" Dollinger decided to start boxing again at the age of 33. Without having denied a significant amateur career, he made his professional debut on June 15, 2004. The man from Munich quickly rose to become a local hero and won the German light heavyweight championship on January 5, 2006 according to the German Boxing Association version . In his next fight he secured the vacant intercontinental title of the less important GBC association. After 18 victorious fights, he boxed on March 14, 2008 in the cruiserweight division against the highly popular Kai Kurzawa and won in the 2nd round by TKO. The sensational victory over Kurzawa brought Dollinger into the top 40 of the world rankings. In January 2009, Dollinger was supposed to box against ex-European champion and multiple World Cup challenger Thomas Ulrich in Magdeburg , but Ulrich had the fight canceled because of a cold. Universum Box Promotion then guaranteed Dollinger a European Championship fight for March 2009. On March 7, 2009, Armin Dollinger boxed in Dresden against the previously unbeaten Aleksy Kuziemski for the light heavyweight championship belt and lost in the 5th round through a technical knockout . On October 16, 2010 Dollinger won the International German Championship of the BDB cruiserweight in Munich on points. On June 11, 2011 he lost the title in the rematch against Kai Kurzawa by technical knockout in the 3rd round.
