Aleksy Kuziemski (born May 9, 1977 in Świecie ) is a former Polish professional boxer .

Career

Kuziemski boxed as an amateur light heavyweight . He won the international Feliks Stamm Tournament in 2000 and 2002 , defeating starters from Russia, Poland, Lithuania and Hungary. In 2003 and 2004 he became Polish champion. In July 2003 he took part in the World Championships in Bangkok , defeated İhsan Yıldırım Tarhan , Ben McEachran and Andrij Fedtschuk , before he was eliminated in the semifinals against Magomed Aripgadschiew and won a bronze medal.

In February 2004 a bronze medal followed at the European Championships in Pula . After victories against Robert Kramberger and István Szűcs, he was defeated this time in the semifinals against Evgeni Makarenko . In June 2004 the silver medal followed at the EU championships in Madrid . He defeated Kenneth Egan and Tony Jeffries before he was eliminated this time in the final against İhsan Yıldırım Tarhan .

In August 2004 he started at the Olympic Games in Athens , but failed in the first fight against Beibut Shumenov .

He has been boxing as a professional since 2005 and won his first 17 fights, twelve of them in Germany and two in Austria. In his fourth fight he defeated Enad Licina , in June 2007 Ladislav Kutil (record: 16-0) and in March 2009 Armin Dollinger (19-0). In August 2009 he boxed in Budapest for the WBO interim world championship , but lost to Jürgen Brähmer (33-2).

After five more fights, including a win against Igor Michalkin (11-0), he received another WBO world title chance in London in May 2011 . He lost to Nathan Cleverly (21-0). In December 2012 he lost to Jean Pascal (26-2) in Canada .
