Enad Licina (born November 14, 1979 in Novi Pazar , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian professional boxer .

Boxing career

Enad Licina boxed as an amateur for Yugoslavia and was quarter-finalist of the Junior World Championships in 1996. In 1997 he won a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division at the Junior European Championships in Birmingham . He was eliminated in the semi-finals against Steffen Kretschmann after defeating Alexander Powetkin in the quarter-finals . Due to the Kosovo War , he moved to Germany and boxed for CSC Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

He made his professional debut on April 2, 2005 in Velten . His first four professional fights, the latter of which he lost to Aleksy Kuziemski , he played for the Hamburg boxing stable Universum Box-Promotion before he was signed by Sauerland Event . He was trained by Karsten Röwer and Manfred Wolke, among others .

In December 2007 he defeated the English champion Rob Norton (record: 29-3) and was on November 8, 2008 IBF Intercontinental Cruiserweight Champion by an early win against Otis Griffin (19-3). He then defended the title against the Colombian José Herrera (16-4) and the Mexican Ignacio Esparza (15-0). In his third defense of the title, an internal duel, Licina lost unanimously on points to Yoan Hernández (19-1).

After a ten-month break in the ring, he won two fights in 2010, including an IBF title elimination against the American Felix Cora (22-3). He then boxed on February 12, 2011 in Mülheim an der Ruhr against Steve Cunningham (23-2) for the IBF world cruiserweight title, but lost the fight unanimously on points. On February 4, 2012, he also lost the fight for the EBU European Cruiserweight Championship against Alexander Alexejew (22-2).

By July 2016 he only played ten fights, in June 2013 he defeated Marcel Zeller by knockout and in February 2016 Dražan Janjanin by TKO and became WBC Mediterranean cruiserweight champion.

In 2010 he slipped into the role of Jack Sharkey in the film Max Schmeling - Eine deutsche Legende , who helped Schmeling in a certain way to become the world champion in 1930.
