Parliamentary election in Hungary 1905
The parliamentary elections in Hungary in 1905 took place from January 26th to February 4th 1905 in Transleithanien . The Hungarian Reichstag ( Hungarian Magyar Országgyűlés ) was newly occupied .
Electoral system
In the Kingdom of Hungary and its crown lands , class suffrage had been in effect since 1867 . Privileges of class and property were much more decisive in Hungary than in Austria.
Election result
The independence and 48 party emerged as the winner of the election . The result meant that the Liberal Party was not part of the Hungarian government for the first time since 1875. This led to the Hungarian crisis and the calling of new elections by King I Ferenc József (Franz Joseph I).
