Parliamentary election in Hungary 1869
The parliamentary elections in Hungary in 1869 took place from March 9th to 13th, 1869 in Transleithanien . The Hungarian Reichstag ( Hungarian Magyar Országgyűlés ) was newly occupied . It was the first choice in Hungary within Austria-Hungary . The most important topics were the legitimation of the Austro-Hungarian settlement of 1867 and the stabilization of the new state Austria-Hungary.
Electoral system
In the Kingdom of Hungary and its crown lands , class suffrage had been in effect since 1867 . Privileges of class and property were much more decisive in Hungary than in Austria.
Election result
The result of the election was a victory for the Deák Party of Ferenc Deak , won the 235 of the 420 seats.
