Parliamentary election in Hungary 1872
The parliamentary elections in Hungary in 1872 took place in Transleithanien from June 12 to July 9, 1872 . The Hungarian Reichstag ( Hungarian Magyar Országgyűlés ) was newly occupied .
Electoral system
In the Kingdom of Hungary and its crown lands , class suffrage had been in effect since 1867 . Privileges of class and property were much more decisive in Hungary than in Austria.
Election result
The result was a victory for the Deák party , which won 245 of the 427 seats.
