Christian Friedrich von Viereck

Christian Friedrich von Viereck (born April 30, 1725 in Wattmannshagen , † November 19, 1777 in Pisa ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

family

Christian Friedrich was a member of the Mecklenburg noble family von Viereck . His parents were the Electoral Saxon and royal Polish lieutenant colonel and heir to Wattmannshagen Friedrich Wilhelm von Viereck (1682–1735) and Ursula Dorothea von Bülow adH Prützen (1702–1765). In 1763 he married Ulrike Charlotte Auguste Luise von Viereck (1742–1797), a daughter of the Prussian State Minister Adam Otto von Viereck from his second marriage. The marriage produced three sons:

  • Karl Albert Friedrich von Viereck (* 1764; † September 3, 1843), Prussian Privy Council of War, Knight of the Order of St. John

⚭ Charlotte Luise Margarethe von Gamm († 1816) from the Karow family

Career

Viereck was an Estandartenjunker in the regiment Gens d'armes (No. 10) in 1740 and became a cornet on March 5, 1741 . He took part in the First Silesian War and was promoted to lieutenant on May 19, 1750 . In the Seven Years' War he distinguished himself so much before Leuthen that the king awarded him the order Pour le Mérite . He also took part in the important battles near Zorndorf , Liegnitz and Torgau . On April 1, 1757, Viereck was promoted to staff cavalry officer and on January 26, 1758 to Rittmeister and company commander. This was followed by his promotion to major on February 1, 1759 with a patent from August 28, 1758. He rose to lieutenant colonel on August 29, 1767 with a patent from September 6, 1767 and was finally commander of the Gens d. Regiment on October 5, 1768 'poor, as well as colonel on May 20, 1772 . Because of long-standing health problems the acquisition it was denied a separate regiment and so dimittierte he eventually as a major general with board .

Viereck was exspected as a Knight of St. John on June 17, 1751 and dressed as a Knight of St. John on October 1, 1764. He was the heir to Weitendorf and Dudingshausen near Güstrow .
