Armin Gehret

Armin Gehret (born October 26, 1923 in Karlstadt ; † July 12, 2019 ) was a German painter , cartoonist and draftsman . He did a commercial apprenticeship. He then attended the Werk-Kunstschule in Offenbach am Main . Then he worked in a Memmingen car dealership. He has been a cartoonist since the 1960s. He was able to sell his work to the magazines Spiegel , Stern and the Penthouse , among others . The satirical magazine Eulenspiegel also printed works by him. He received the Wilhelm Busch Prize in 1987 and the Johann Georg Fischer Art Prize of the city of Marktoberdorf in 2003. He lived in the Upper Swabian spa town of Bad Grönenbach near Memmingen until his death .

His drawings are linear. The detailed drawings mostly deal with social issues and human weaknesses.
