Armin Glatter
Ármin Glatter (born April 24, 1861 in Moldava nad Bodvou , † October 29, 1931 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian portrait and genre painter .
Glatter first studied law and then from 1882 to 1885 at the model drawing school (Mintarajziskolában) in Budapest with Károly Lotz and from October 18, 1886 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Gabriel von Hackl .
He then went on study trips to Germany , Russia and Italy . He also spent a year in Paris .
Around 1897 he taught at Sándor Bihnari and Imre Knopp's “Free School for Women Painters” in Budapest, and later also in the Jewish art school that opened in 1921. He was one of the founders of the SÉSZEK artists' association. From 1888 he exhibited his works in the Budapest art gallery . His works can be found in the Hungarian National Gallery. Ármin Glatter mainly painted portraits of women, sometimes in the form of miniatures.
His son Gyula Glatter (1886–1927) and his daughter Etel Glatter (1893–1952) were also painters.
