Armin Höland

Armin Höland (born November 4, 1948 in Ingolstadt ) is a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school in Ingolstadt in 1968, Höland studied medicine from 1969 to 1977 , then law and ethnology at the University of Hamburg . From 1977 to 1982 he was a research assistant in the social science research group at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and then from 1982 to 1999 at the Center for European Legal Policy at the University of Bremen . After the traineeship service of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg until 1981, Höland in 1984 with a thesis on the behavior of works in denouncing situation at the Free University of Berlin to Dr. iur. PhD. This was followed by the cooperation in research projects in Berlin and Paris before the participation of 1995/96 Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main with the work Atypical work and legal normality - A European tension habilitation .

As early as 1991, Höland came to Halle (Saale) , where he worked with Volkmar Gessner on the project of the EG reorganization of legal teaching in Central and Eastern Europe and thus taught at various universities there, including the University of Kaliningrad . With Sumy in Ukraine , Höland established a cooperation program that continues to this day.

From 1996 to 1999 Höland was a substitute professor at the Faculty of Law II at the University of Hamburg, and in 1999 he followed a call back to the University of Halle , to the chair for civil law , labor law and social security law . In 2014 he retired .

Research priorities

Höland deals with the Europeanization of private law , with the law of obligations and labor law , especially labor law developments in Central and Eastern Europe.
