Gerfried Fischer

Gerfried Fischer (born July 5, 1940 in Hildesheim ) is a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

After completing high school and military service, Fischer studied law in Tübingen , Lausanne , Berlin and Göttingen and graduated in 1964 with the first state examination in law. After studying at the University of California, Berkeley , from which he graduated in 1966 with a Master of Laws (LL.M), he completed his legal clerkship in 1969 with the assessor exam . First he was a research assistant , then an academic advisor and senior advisor at the University of Göttingen; 1973 Fischer was with the work The Blanketter clarification - a typological inquiry to Dr. iur. PhD. His habilitation took place in 1987 with a thesis on traffic protection in international contract law , also at the University of Göttingen. There he then worked as a private lecturer .

After Fischer had taught at the University of Halle from 1991, first as a lecturer and then as a deputy professor , he was appointed to the chair for civil law , international private law and comparative law , which was later expanded to include medical law , at the end of 1991 . From 2001 he was also involved in the interdisciplinary scientific center for medicine-ethics-law in Halle, and later he was a member of the institution's board of directors. In 2005 he retired , where he worked in teaching until the 2010s.

Fischer deals with civil law , in particular with medical law .
