Armin Kircher
Armin Kircher (born December 6, 1966 in Kufstein ; † October 12, 2015 in Straßwalchen ) was an Austrian church musician and composer.
Life
Armin Kircher grew up in Breitenbach in Tyrol and graduated from the Kollegium Borromaeum Salzburg in 1985 . He then completed church music studies at the Mozarteum Music University in Salzburg, which he graduated in 1991.
He headed the church music department of the Archdiocese of Salzburg and has been the organizational director of the Austrian Work Week for Church Music since 1992. He was also the collegiate conductor at the collegiate church St. Peter in Salzburg and organist at the oldest surviving organ in the city of Salzburg in the Kajetanerkirche .
He was the editor of numerous editions with old and new choral music. Numerous verses in God's praise of 2013 come from his pen.
Kircher died on October 12, 2015 at the age of only 48 of heart failure during a train ride from Salzburg to Vienna.
Armin Kircher is buried in the Petersfriedhof Salzburg .
