Joseph Arnaouti

Joseph Arnaouti ICPB (born May 2, 1936 in Aleppo ) is the Armenian Catholic Patriarchal Exarch of Damascus .

Life

Joseph Arnaouti joined the religious order of the Institut du Clergé Patriarcal de Bzommar and was ordained a priest on April 5, 1969 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kamichlié on August 21, 1989 .

The Patriarch of Cilicia , John Bedros XVIII. Kasparian ICPB, ordained him episcopal on March 18 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were André Bedoglouyan ICPB, auxiliary bishop in Cilicia, and Krikor Ayvazian , former bishop of Kamichlié.

He resigned from his office on April 10, 1992. On May 24, 1994 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in San Gregorio de Narek en Buenos Aires . In 1997 he was appointed Patriarchal Exarch of Damascus, based in the Church of the Queen of the Universe, and Curia Bishop in Cilicia, but resigned from the latter position in 1999.
