The eparchy Qamishli ( Latin : Eparchia Kamechliensis Armenorum ) is the eparchy of the Armenian Catholic Church located in Qamishli (former French spelling: Kamichlié ) in Syria . It includes the governorates of Deir ez-Zor and al-Hasakah .

history

The Qamishli Patriarchal Vicariate was established in 1938.

With the Apostolic Constitution Cum summus , Pope Pius XII. it on June 29, 1954 to the eparchy from cession of territory of the dissolved Archeparch Mardin (now titular Archdiocese of Mardin degli Armeni ) and subordinated it to the Patriarchate of Cilicia as a suffragan diocese .

Since 1992 the local ordinary of the Aleppo Archeparchy has been administering the eparchy as Apostolic Administrator "sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis ".
