Joseph Gennangi
Joseph Gennangi (born September 30, 1898 in Mardin , Syria , today Turkey , † October 22, 1981 ) was the first Armenian Catholic bishop of the Kamichlié eparchy in Syria, which was founded in 1954 .
Life
Joseph Gennangi was ordained a priest on April 3, 1921 . On October 21, 1954 he was appointed Bishop of Kamichlié. The Patriarch of Cilicia Cardinal Krikor Bedros XV. Agagianian and the co- consecrators Archbishop Iknadios Batanian of Aleppo and Auxiliary Bishop Guregh Hovhannes Zohrabian in Cilicia donated him the episcopal ordination on December 12, 1954 . After his age-related retirement on November 20, 1972, he was appointed titular bishop of Adana degli Armeni and was former bishop of Kamichlié until his death on October 22, 1981 .
He participated in three sessions of the Second Vatican Council and was co-consecrator to Paul Coussa , auxiliary bishop in the Syrian Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch , as titular bishop of Colonia in Armenia .
