Arnjolt Beer (born June 19, 1946 in Koumac , New Caledonia ) is a former French shot putter who also competed in discus and hammer throw.

Career

At the Pacific Games, Arnjolt Beer played for New Caledonia and won a total of 13 medals. He won the shot put five times (1966, 1969, 1971, 1975 and 1983). He won the discus throw in 1969, 1971 and 1975 and won silver in 1966 and 1983. In 1975 he won silver in the hammer throw and bronze in 1969 and 1971.

In Europe, he first appeared at the 1967 Mediterranean Games in Tunis . Starting for France this time, he won silver in the shot put. In 1968, 1971, 1978 and 1980 he became French champion. In 1975, 1977, 1978 and 1979 he won the national indoor title.

In 1968 and 1972 he was a member of the French Olympic team and competed in the shot put. In Mexico City, he could not qualify for the final as fourth in his group. Also in 1972 he failed in the qualifying round.

Beer appeared six times as a shot putter at the European Indoor Championships. He achieved his best result in 1968 when he finished 6th.
