Arno Mentzel-Reuters (born November 19, 1959 in Setterich near Aachen ) is a German old Germanist and book scholar .

Career

Mentzel-Reuters attended the Dalton-Gymnasium in Alsdorf . After graduating from high school, he studied German , philosophy and history at RWTH Aachen University and the Technical University of Berlin . In 1988 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD . After training for the higher library service, he devoted himself to cataloging manuscripts in Aachen and Tübingen from 1988 onwards . He has headed the library since 1994, and since 2004 also the archive of the Monumenta Germaniae Historica (MGH).

In 1999 he completed his habilitation in book studies at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen . In 2005 he completed his habilitation in the field of German language and literature of the Middle Ages at the University of Augsburg . In 2010 she appointed him associate professor .

From 2004 to 2010 he headed the digitization project of all editions of the MGH, which was funded by the German Research Foundation. With Jürgen Sarnowsky he publishes the supplements to the Prussian document book on behalf of the Historical Commission for East and West Prussian State Research .
