Arno Schmidt-Trucksäss

Arno Schmidt-Trucksäss (born May 17, 1960 in Hanover ) is a German sports doctor .

Live and act

Schmidt-Trucksäss studied at the University of Göttingen from 1979 and received his doctorate there in 1990 on the subject of myelin changes and metachromatic leukodystrophy - a comparative morphological study of the clinical subtypes . He completed his habilitation in 2002 at the University of Freiburg on the subject of physiological and pathological properties of arterial vessels - recording and description with non-invasive ultrasound . In 2004 he became Olympic doctor for the German national swimming team for the Summer Olympics in Athens and the Summer Olympics in Beijingcalled. From 2005, Schmidt-Trucksäss was Head of Prevention and Rehabilitation and Senior Physician at the Center for Prevention and Sports Medicine at the Technical University of Munich . Since 2009 he has been a full professor of sports medicine, head of the sports and exercise medicine department at the University of Basel . Since 2012 he has also been the chief physician of the sports medicine outpatient clinic at the University of Basel.
