Arno Wallaard Memorial

The Arno Wallaard Memorial is a Dutch road bike race .

The one-day race was called Omloop Alblasserwaard until 2006 . In 2007 it was renamed to honor Dutch cyclist Arno Wallaard , who won this race in 1999 and died in 2006 as a result of cardiac arrest .

It was held for the first time in 1984. It has been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2009, where it is classified in UCI category 1.2.

The record winner is Arie Overbeeke from the Netherlands , who won the race twice, in 1984 and 1985. So far, only four foreign drivers have won the race, Denis Flahaut from France , Edvin Wilson from Sweden , Timothy Stevens from Belgium and Joshua Huppertz from Germany. (As of 2017)
