Arnold Enlow

Arnold "Buddy" Enlow (born August 22, 1933 , † February 25, 1988 in Philadelphia ) was an American jazz musician ( drums ).

Live and act

Enlow worked from the 1950s as an accompanist for the vocalists Nina Simone , Dinah Washington and Billy Eckstine . In 1960 he was a member of the Kenny Dorham Quintet, with Charles Davis on baritone saxophone, Steve Kuhn (piano), Jimmy Garrison and Butch Warren on bass, to be heard on the album Jazz Contrasts . In 1961 he played with James Moody ( Cookin 'the Blues ). Enlow's drumming was based on Art Taylor . The down beat described his game as "somewhat bumpy" ( somewhat choppy ).
