Arnold Langenmayr

Arnold Langenmayr (born May 15, 1943 in Traunstein ) is a German psychologist , psychoanalyst and university professor . In his scientific and practical work, he combines essential topics from therapy, research and training.

Life

Grown up in Traunstein, Langenmayr studied psychology in Munich and Erlangen and graduated in 1967 with a diploma in psychology. 1973 followed a doctorate in psychology at the University of Erlangen with Walter Toman (Erlangen) and Adolf Däumling (Bonn). 1967–1968 he worked as a psychological advisor to several children's homes of the Brotherhood Salem, 1968–1970 at the educational counseling center Hof / Saale, with the supervision of the branches in Wunsiedel and Selb. 1970–1974 he headed the Arnsberg Psychological Counseling Center . 1974–1975 he was associate professor at the University of Oldenburg. Since 1975 he has taught as a professor of motivational psychology at the University of Essen . In 2001 he received his license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist / psychoanalyst, both for adults and for children and adolescents.

The focus of his scientific work lies in the field of psychotherapy research (grief, grief counseling and grief therapy), life course research, family relations (sibling constellation, personal losses through death, separation and divorce), psychosomatics (especially multiple sclerosis ), language psychology (sound symbolism) , such as the empirical evaluation of psychoanalytic hypotheses. His practical work focuses on educational counseling, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, grief counseling and psychotherapy, and advanced training in grief counseling (together with Hans Goldbrunner and Ulrich Kobbé) on behalf of the Ruhr Campus Academy.
