Arnold Mitchell

Arnold Mitchell (born December 1, 1929 in Rotherham , † October 19, 2014 ) was an English football player .

Athletic career

Mitchel was initially under contract with Sheffield Wednesday , Derby County and Nottingham Forest . When Forest rose to the Second Division in the summer of 1951 , he had remained without a championship game during the season. He then moved to Exeter City within the Football League and remained in the lowest English professional league. In the following years he played with the club in the Football League Third Division South and after the introduction of the Fourth Division as the new fourth division in each case in the lowest professional league. In 1964 he led the club as team captain in the Third Division , but missed relegation with the team in 1966. He then wanted to end his career at Taunton Town in the Western Football League , but had to give up his football boots early after a fibula fracture .
