Arnold Schwellensattl (born January 13, 1975 in Meran ) is a former Italian football player from South Tyrol .

Life

At the age of 14 he moved to Atalanta Bergamo . He played in Bergamo for three years, was U-15 Italian champion and was also called up for the Italian junior national team alongside Alessandro Del Piero , as he was considered one of the greatest forward strikers of his year in Italy. He then moved to 1. FC Köln for a year , where he scored 46 goals this season alongside Carsten Jancker. Back in Bergamo he was awarded to the fourth class FC Bozen, then came to Wattens in the 2nd Austrian league and at the age of 21 he was a top performer at VfB Mödling in the 1st Austrian league. Among other things, he scored the winning goal against SV Austria Salzburg shortly before the end .

He experienced a career break when he moved to TSV 1860 Munich . The summer before the move, he contracted a viral infection after surgery in his knee and lost 13 kilograms. This loss of strength stopped his development and he was only used in the regional league team for the Löwen. He played there for two years before moving to the first Chinese league in the city of Chongqing . There he played before another serious injury knocked him back. A four centimeter tear in the liver was detected just in time. Back in Europe he played in the 4th Italian league at FC Südtirol , in the 1st Norwegian league at Start Kristiansand and in the 2nd Austrian league at LASK Linz . As a professional he scored 96 competitive goals before he decided in summer 2006 to return to Merano, mainly because he was homesick. He has now passed several trainer exams with distinction and sees his future as a trainer, especially in the youth field.
