Aron Anderson (born January 26, 1988 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish adventurer and exceptional athlete.

Career

In 1996, Anderson had cancer of the sacrum . This led to him becoming paraplegic and being dependent on a wheelchair since he was nine years old.

Anderson climbed a. a. the Kilimanjaro , participated in four Paralympic Games (in the sports of sailing, athletics and sledge hockey) part, won at the 2004 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships bronze medal and Ironman finisher.

In December 2016, he was the world's first paraplegic to ski 300 km to the South Pole on sit-down skis . With this he collected almost five million Swedish kronor (approx. 510,000 euros) in donations for the Swedish children's cancer organization Barncancerfonden .

Wings for Life World Run

On May 7, 2017, he drove the world record distance of 92.14 km at the fourth edition of the Wings for Life World Run in Dubai and at the same time became the first wheelchair user to achieve global victory in this run. He repeated his success on May 6, 2018 with another victory at the fifth event in Sunrise (Florida) with a distance of 89.85 km.
