The Arques is a river in France that runs in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region . It is created by the merging of the rivers Béthune , Varenne and Eaulne in the municipality of Arques-la-Bataille , drains generally in a north-westerly direction and flows into the English Channel after about 6 kilometers in the urban area of Dieppe .
