Ars Vivendi

Ars Vivendi (also: ArsVivendi , Latin ars vivendi ‚ art of living ' ) is a gastronomy magazine on the private conurbation broadcaster TV.Berlin . The three-quarters of an hour program has been moderated by trained cameraman and journalist Manuel Werner since it began in 1997 . As part of the four-week magazine, he visits around four restaurants or hotels, which are primarily located in Berlin and the surrounding area. With changing female accompaniment, he evaluates the ambience and the cuisine. Since the "tested" locations pay for an appearance on the show, the verdict is always benevolent. It was disputed whether the program must therefore be labeled as a long-term advertising program . In November 2002 the Berlin Higher Administrative Court finally denied such a claim.

The production company for the magazine is Feature Video GmbH , whose managing director is Manuel Werner. In 1991 he was one of the founding shareholders of Fernsehen aus Berlin (FAB), a private television broadcaster that had to file for bankruptcy in 2009 . At that time Werner was already the presenter of the show. The magazine has been broadcast on TV.Berlin since FAB went bankrupt. According to the managing director, the show has up to 400,000 viewers if you add up the individual broadcast dates.

An online portal of the same name is connected to the broadcast, which presents companies and their offers according to the topic.

In October 2018, Manuel Werner announced on Facebook that Ars Vivendi would be discontinued after more than two decades.
