Arthur "Art" Donovan Devlin (born September 7, 1922 in Lake Placid , † April 22, 2004 ibid) was an American ski jumper .
In the Second World War was kind Devlin pilot of a B-24 -Bombers and received for his services in a total of fifty combat missions several awards including the Purple Heart . After the war he came back to ski jumping. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1950 he reached 5th place on the large hill. At the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 , Devlin reached 15th place after jumps on 60.5 and 63.5 m. Four years later he jumped at the Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1956 on 74.0 and 72.5 m and thus reached the end of the 21st place.
In 1960, after his active ski jumping career ended, Devlin became a sports commentator for CBS and later moved to ABC . He opened a sports hotel in his hometown as early as 1953. It wasn't until 1992 that he passed the Art Devlin's Olympic Motor Inn on to his son.
Devlin served as Vice President of the Organizing Committee for the 1980 Winter Olympics in his hometown in 1980 . A memorial was erected there for his services to ski jumping in Lake Placid.
Devlin was married twice and had three children. In 2004 he died of a brain tumor .
