Posterior gastric artery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The posterior gastric artery (from Latin gaster " stomach "; "posterior gastric artery") is an artery of the abdominal cavity in humans. It arises in the middle section of the splenic artery and rises steeply in the diaphragmatic-splenic ligament ( ligamentum phrenicosplenicum ) to the fundus of the stomach and branches into its posterior wall. The posterior gastric artery is inconsistent and occurs in only about 30% of individuals.
