Arthur Dölitzsch

Arthur Ottomar Olympius Dölitzsch (born April 15, 1819 in Altenburg ; † February 14, 1900 there ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a later town churchman and music teacher, Dölitzsch studied law in Jena and Leipzig after attending grammar school in Altenburg . During his studies in 1840 he became a member of the Arminia fraternity in the castle cellar . After his exams in 1843 he became a notary in 1844 and a lawyer in Altenburg in 1846 . He also worked as a publicist . During the revolution of 1848/49 he worked in Altenburg together with Hans Alfred Erbe and Adolph Douai . From 1848 to 1853 he was editor of the Altenburger Volksblatt , during the revolution of 1848/49 he was editor of the Altenburger March Association Gazette . From 1848 to 1850 he was a republican member of the Saxon-Altenburg state parliament , where he also worked as an editor for the Altenburger state papers. He was also a member of the Altenburg revolutionary state parliament. He was elected the last Altenburg Civil Guard commandant. He later became a member of the German Liberal Party . He became a privy councilor .
