Arthur Holden Lowe (born January 29, 1886 in Birmingham , † October 22, 1956 or 1958 in London ) was an English tennis player.

Life

Arthur Lowe, the younger brother of Gordon Lowe , came in 1886 in Birmingham in the district of Edgbaston to the world. From 1905 he took part in tournaments, in 1906 he was eliminated in his first appearance at the Wimbledon tournament in the second round against Albert Davis Prebble . He achieved his best result there in 1910, when he was eliminated in the semi-finals against Beals Wright . In doubles he was also able to reach the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 1913 at the side of his brother Gordon.

Lowe appeared at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 in singles and doubles, but could not win a medal. Between 1911 and 1920 he played five matches in the Davis Cup , but they all had to give up.

Lowe won the tournament three times at the Queen's Club in London . He last played in 1929 in singles at the Wimbledon Championships. He died in London in the 1950s.
