Arthur Onslow, 3rd Earl of Onslow
Arthur George Onslow, 3rd Earl of Onslow , (born October 25, 1777 in Marylebone , London , † October 24, 1870 ibid) was an English nobleman and politician .
Life
Family and title
Onslow was the eldest son of Thomas Onslow, 2nd Earl of Onslow and his first wife Arabella Ellerker. His maternal grandfather worked as a lawyer. On July 21, 1818, he married Mary Fludyer, daughter of Sir George Fludyer and Lady Mary Fane. His father-in-law held the post of Mayor of London in 1761 . The couple had two daughters. The title of Earl of Onslow and the subordinate titles took over Onslow after the death of his father in 1827. Since no male descendant emerged from his marriage, the title passed on his death to William Hillier Onslow , a great-nephew of Onslow.
Career
Onslow initially received his training at Harrow School . This is followed by a study completed at Christ Church College of Oxford University , where he was enrolled on November 4 1795th With the death of his father, he moved into his seat in the House of Lords .
