Artur Domosławski (* 1967 ) is a Polish reporter , journalist and author .

Life

Domosławski studied theater studies at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theater Academy in Warsaw and turned to journalism after graduating in 1993, after having been in Latin America for a year in 1988 and writing reports from there. He worked for the daily newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza for two decades, and since 2011 he has been writing for the news magazine Polityka . He also writes for the Polish edition of Le Monde diplomatique . He has summarized his reports in several books.

Domosławski was a Knight Fellow at Stanford University in 2005/06 .

In 2010 he published his biography about Ryszard Kapuściński , whose student and friend he was. The book was the subject of controversy in Poland, as few in Poland are interested in disenchanting the reporter legend. In 2010 he received the “Dziennikarz Roku” award for the book.
