Artur Jahn

Artur Wilhelm Paul Jahn (born March 18, 1904 in Stuttgart ; † October 16, 1983 in Kirchheim unter Teck ) was a German CDU politician .

After attending elementary school , Jahn, who was of Protestant faith, completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic. He worked in this profession until 1929 and was then union secretary in the Christian Metalworkers' Association until 1933 . After the trade unions were banned by the National Socialists , he worked as a mechanic again. In 1941 he passed the master's examination.

Before 1933 Jahn belonged to the CSVD . In 1945 he participated in the founding of the CDU in the Esslingen district , where he was a member of the district executive. In 1948 he was elected to the regional executive committee of the CDU North-Württemberg.

Jahn was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1961. He represented the constituency of Stuttgart I in parliament.
